MURREL BUTLER
St. Francisville, Louisiana is sometimes
referred to as "Audubon's
Happyland" and was the location where Audubon painted
dozens of birds for his Birds
of North America. Now, Murrell Butler is the area's best-known
contemporary wildlife artist
and naturalist.
Murrell is a soft-spoken artist
who is recognized throughout
the state for his realistic depictions
of wildlife. He has won many
competitions for the Louisiana
Nature Stamp and Louisiana Duck
Stamp, and he currently does
the commemorative posters for
St. Francisville's Audubon Country
Birdfest.
