MURREL BUTLER

St. Francisville, Louisiana is sometimes referred to as "Audubon's Happyland" and was the location where Audubon painted dozens of birds for his Birds of North America. Now, Murrell Butler is the area's best-known contemporary wildlife artist and naturalist.

Murrell is a soft-spoken artist who is recognized throughout the state for his realistic depictions of wildlife. He has won many competitions for the Louisiana Nature Stamp and Louisiana Duck Stamp, and he currently does the commemorative posters for St. Francisville's Audubon Country Birdfest.
