Biography:

Vannoy Streeter was born in 1919 in Wartrace, Tennessee. He is known for his wire works and began working with the medium as a child, often times making his own wire toys. His intrigue with machinery led to the creation of model vehicles, and his proximity to local stables influenced his creation of Tennessee walking horses. Streeter worked with pliers and wire all his life, eventually earning him the nickname, "Wire Man." In his work, Streeter has sculpted everything from airplanes to guitars. He's also created people, including Elvis Presley and Tina Turner. Streeter passed away in 1998.
